Zone 7a! This was accurate back in 2019, but as of 2024, my area has shifted hardiness zones. Zone 7b.

  2. Community
    • A space to come together and share knowledge, stories, advice, and friendship with other like-minded folks!
  3. A Journey
    • A platform to document my transition into homesteading life as I accumulate skills and eventually search for land. I hope to grow most of my own food, including raising and harvesting my own animals.

Why “sensitiveplantgirl”?

If you ever wondered where the name sensitiveplantgirl came from:

THIS is a sensitive plant {mimosa pudica}. When touched, its leaves close up, curling in on themselves in order to protect the plant from danger!
I think I’d be this cautious lil guy if I were made of leaves.
